You guys know how over the top obsessed I am with renovating and updating (and organizing!) a home. You’ve watched me work on my current house since last June. Oh, and I still have a wayyyyyssss to go. I love to share ideas, read magazines poke around on pinterest, and occasionally I get lost in a fun home improvement show. So when I heard about a new show on NBC called American Dream Builders, hosted by Nate Berkus, my ears perked up.
I don’t have a lot of time (or interest, honestly) to watch tv. But when I do, it’s typically something I have DVR’d. And this show is definitely set to record on mine!

If I could make-over my house, I'd start with gutting the inside of it. I'd love the spray insulation put in and new walls that don't have texture. I hate textured walls and mine are all popcorn walls…ugh!! I would redo my bathroom to take out the tub, put in a tile walk-in shower with rain shower heads with a seat in it, add a double sink, can lights, and built in shelving. I'd redo my walk-in closet with The Closet Organizer system from the Container Store. In the kitchen, I would add can lighting, new cabinets, granite or quartz counterops, cabinets with pull-out drawers and a counter height bar. I'd build a dedicated laundry room. My laundry is out in the garage. I would update the other bathroom with new tub and cabinet. Crown molding and the big thick trim would be put in all the rooms. I'd add an in-ground pool and screen-in our porch. These are just some the ideas that I would do to my house.
My dream home makeover is having new carpet.

My dream home makeover would include everything on one floor with large rooms, lots of windows and storage, and full automation. I’d love to have indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as plenty of room for the dogs to run around.
We'd have to buy the empty lot next to us to do what we really wanted to do. If we didn't go that route I'd love to have a kitchen without cabinet full of golden oak. Paint almost all the rooms and if possible get rid of the texturing we have on all our walls.
We plan on buying a house in a little over a year, so I will have to keep this show in mind then. Unless they upload full episodes online I will not be able to watch. 🙁

My house was built in 1962. I would love to remodel the master bedroom to include a large walk-in closet and a big brand new bathroom.
I'd love to pull out all the carpet and replace with floors that are easy to clean. Plus I'd make my patio into a sanctuary that was secure enough for my pets to play outside.
I'd love a bigger kitchen.
A dream home makeover to me would be updated kitchen and bathrooms throughout the house. It would include fresh paint and new carpeting throughout the house. And to get extra greedy, new energy efficient storm window, maintenance free vinyl siding and some fresh landscaping with a new fence.
My bathroom needs a total makeover, currently you have to step up into a plastic shower! I'd love to have a nice tiled walk-in shower 🙂
My dream home makeover would be finishing our attic completely to have storage and more living space. I also would love an outdoor entertaining space. So fun to dream!

My dream makeover is to have my kitchen remodeled to include new flooring, new countertops and new appliances.
A dream makeover for me would be to have the unfinished side of the basement finished into a bar/lounge area. Mostly because DH would really love it but he does not have the time to actually do it!

I would love to have some major help with our odd shaped yard which received zero love from the previous owners. Someone with a fabulous vision would help!! I'd also love to kick this place up a huge notch and take it from just fine ho-hum mostly builder grade to truly one of a kind; preferably with the help of a rockin' interior designer.
I would completely gut my kitchen. Tear down a few walls to open up the space. New EVERYTHING…floors, cabinets, counter tops and appliances. And I'd watch anything with Nate Berkus. Love his designs.
My laundary room
We desperately need a second bathroom!! Four people and one bathroom just isn't working for us!
I would love to makeover our laundry room. It needs more storage.
I would start in the kitchen–new floor, new counter tops, I would love new flooring in the entire place. I would love a new guest bathroom and a master bathroom.

Oh my. Well, right now a wall of shelves in our living room, and updated lighting fixtures.
The other thing, which I can't do in this house, but was something I would love to do in some future house, is a laundry room right next to the bedrooms….between them actually, with sliding doors that went directly from the laundry room into the closet so you could just put everything away straight onto the shelves. I hate how my washer and dryer are as far as possible from the rooms the clothes go into. 🙁

Dream home makeover…. Oh man this is hard. For the last few weeks my family has been in the process of downsizing from our three bedroom 1 car garage house into a 2 bedroom apartment. When we moved I downsized quite a bit of our belongings however now that we are here I have found one project after another that needs to be done. This of course is only temporary until we are done planning and building our "dream home" which we are hoping to be moving into in the next year.
So I guess my true dream home makeover would be things I can do that I can carry onto our new house. I want the house organized. I want no cables showing behind computers or televisions. I want the cds and dvds that we have to be organized into a smaller containers that will fit in our entertainment center. I want the kids toys to all have their own places (we follow Montessori home school technique). I want a better solution for my cleaning supplies instead of neatly organizing them under the sink. I want my pantry to be organized to the point that I can look in at a glance and decide what I want to cook for dinner.
Once I can feel organized I can focus on "less important" factors but for now I am just happy that I can walk into my storage and not have to dig through boxes to find what I want. (we bought a couple shelving systems from Ikea and un-packed everything so it is more like a proper classroom storage)
My son had Diabetes and a heart transplant and Celiac's disease so we need more storage in our small home . In the kitchen we need storage for his food and cooking utensils to keep them away from our so we don't have cross contamination . I need more storage in the bathroom for his medical supplies. A new Air Conditioner with an air filter that takes all impurities from the air they are costly so we don't have one.
I'd love to redecorate our living room with some professional help!
