Old Boxes & Containers < New Drawer Organizers

Jun 20

If you think getting organized has to cost a fortune, that can’t be further from the truth. In the past, in previous homes, I’ve re-purposed old food packaging and shipping boxes to organize drawers. And I’m doing the same thing, and saving money again, here in the new house.
We’re leaving for a 2 week vacation this coming weekend. In between getting organized for the long trip, the kids getting out of school, and wrapping my head around our summer schedule, I’ve continued working toward my goal of getting organized in every nook and cranny of this house. That includes all things drawers!
Here are my office drawers. I’ve used old snack packaging and checkbook boxes here…

And in them I’ve organized checkbooks, stamps, post-it notes, extra usb drives, and wireless computer mice…

In the next drawer down I’ve organized a few regularly used computer cords and small office supplies. The 4-divider box was an old cupcake decorating kit box. Works perfectly and it’s cute…and free!…

I didn’t stop there this week. I also used my trusty goldfish snack boxes and a great shipping box that I received when I ordered a set of 6 small candles…

Even old, but pretty, shoe boxes are a great free drawer organizer…

If the boxes you have aren’t pretty, you can wrap them in pretty colored papers, or use washi tape on the edges like I did here on this 6-compartment box…

The fun part for me is always putting everything away!…

Shoe boxes = a tank top organizer…

More shoe boxes hold socks, lingerie and that 6-compartment box…it now contains belts and tights…

The goldfish boxes are a great spot to fold underwear. This drawer is shallow so the boxes work perfectly in here…

Happy, organized office and closet drawers. Oh, and did I mention – FREE!

Have a great day!

I was just getting ready to throw away a lot of old shoe boxes, not anymore. I never thought to put them in my dresser drawers.

The shoe box tank top holder is a great idea! I may just have to try that. I'm kind of a tank top hoarder with a whole dresser dedicated to them, organized from casual to dressy! #addict

I like the tape you dressedit up with!

I've been looking for organizers for a very shallow desk drawer. Haven't been able to find anything that fits, much less like! Now I can do it!

  6. I'm a very organized person but was as a teenager, I still have my orange nike shoe lid with contact paper over it that I used for pens in my top desk drawer. I was only 11. I'm just learning that I have a great talent that I can share with the world. Organization and cleaning is a strong talent and one of my few talents, I have. I love your blog.

I'd Love To Hear From You!
