Merry Christmas!…and A Couple Exciting Announcements!

Dec 24

Merry Christmas Eve, friends! Hope this blog post finds you surrounded by family, friends, gifts and the smells only a Christmas kitchen creates.

I had all these grand plans for the blog this week that included a couple posts, my organizer’s gift guide and a couple client before & afters (so many of these to share!). But….life happened. More like “life at Christmas time with 3 kids out of school and a long to-do list” happened. With the kids home, a few last minute gifts to be purchased, a much-needed hair appointment made available by my fav hairdresser, baking, cooking, gift wrapping (oh, the endless wrapping!), grocery shopping and playdates….well, it just isn’t going to happen.

Best laid plans right?

Don’t worry – I’ll still share my gift guide and it will be even better in the new year when you’re getting organized!

What I can happily say, however, is that ALL the gifts are wrapped, groceries purchased, my hair looks amazing and the funeral potatoes are in the oven as I type and we’re ready for what is sure to be a fun day at Great Grandma’s house in Sonoma. With a house full of family, food and a lot of chaos. That’s what Christmas is all about, right?

(Yes, I did say funeral potatoes. And I suspect that recipe name means they’re so delicious you could die. Based on the smell in my house right now, sounds like an fitting name. Well, the taste or the amount of butter could send you to the hospital too. Ha! This is the recipe I’m making today.)

With 2016 knocking on our door, I’m already feeling the rush of those wishing to get organized in the new year. My e-mail inbox is feeling it too! My January client calendar is filling up quickly…and it appears my blog calendar is, as well! I have a couple exciting announcements that I wasn’t planning to share until next week…but since I signed the contract on one this week – I figured why not! I’m too excited about it to not share right away!

Simply Organized is a 2016 blog brand ambassador for Command Adhesive! Ack, Command Adhesive!…the product used in every client home I work in. And of course, my own home. I’ll share more details about the partnership soon, but what you can for sure expect to see over the next year is 3 unique projects created by me using Command Brand products. The final project details are being ironed out but the contract is signed and couldn’t be more excited to work with this great company…and great PR firm!

Second announcement…my dear blog friend, Toni of A Bowl Full of Lemons, wrote an organization book. If you know her, it’s no surprise her book was #1 in new-releases when it launched on Amazon…

And if you don’t know her, run over to her blog when you’re done reading this post. You’ll fall in love with Toni’s style, recipes, planner-addiction, all of her amazing organization ideas and her cute little self.

So proud of this girl and her hard work. If you told me starting a blog four years ago would extend into creating life-long friendships…I would’ve thought you were nuts. Meeting friends online? This girl doesn’t do that. But…oh did I! I’ve made some amazing blog friends and am grateful for each one.

When she asked me to be a part of her book though…I’m sorry, seriously? After picking myself up off the floor, I couldn’t contain my excitement. And of course, I said yes! Simply Organized and a garage space I completed is featured in her book and can’t wait to receive my copy very soon…and just in time for her organization series she hosts every year. I’m a part of her book launch team so you’ll hear all the details about the book in the new year! But this is definitely something special to share with you. So grateful she asked me to be in he book and help with launching. I’d do anything for her!

I have more to share in the coming weeks.. As 2015 winds down, I’ll share a look back on my most popular posts this year, other blog / business accomplishments not previously talked about and some general fun wrap-up posts. And I can’t wait to share what’s in store for 2016 – for the blog and my business. I’ve got a very good feeling about 2016. And it’s all positive!

What I did want to say is that I’m even more grateful for each follower…on the blog and my social media platforms. With long to-do lists, busy lives and more…I’m honored that each of you takes a moment of your time to read my posts / shares. Thank you so much for your support and comments. I really do my best to respond to each one because I know leaving a comment takes time. It means so much to me. It really does. Thank you, guys!

And Merry Christmas, everyone!

Funeral potatoes are a name used in Utah for this dish. When someone passes the Mormon congregation puts together a luncheon for the family. This potato dish is typically served – thus the name ‘Funeral Potatoes’. Enjoy!

Hi Susan! Thank you so much for the note about the history of this dish. It was delicious and my family loved it! It’s a keeper!!!

      Happy new year!

      xo,

I'd Love To Hear From You!
