Hey there! I'm thrilled (and grateful) you found your way over to Simply Organized!

I'm Samantha, lover of all things simple, pretty and organized.

This blog is my passion and happy place outside of motherhood.
My children are ages 10 (boy), 8 (boy) and 4 (girl).
As a parent, I know how difficult it is to maintain a clutter-free environment.
My goal is not only to live simply and responsibly,
but to also instill good time management and
organization habits in the lives of my children.

My blog is named Simply Organized for a reason - I like to keep it simple.
And I also love to DIY my own solutions or re-purpose old items in new ways.

Here at Simply Organized you'll read about and see organization projects completed in my home, as well as in the homes of Simply Organized clients. You'll also follow along as I complete big and small home renovation projects in our Northern California home (built in 1960).

Hopefully I can encourage you to consider getting your spaces organized and beautiful so that you can live simply and have more time to enjoy the important things in life.

Oh, I'm also a member of NAPO as well as my local SF Bay Area NAPO Chapter!…

  1. Hi Sam, I have always loved your organized skills and know I can find them when ever I want. Thank you for sharing.

  2. ok. i have to ask. are you an e.e. cummings fan? i enjoy your blog, but have been wondering about the lack of capital letters. i checked your "about" page and didn't find an answer. please, do tell.

    1. Hahah!!!! You are too cute!!!

Thank you so much for the sweet comment!

No, I do love e e Cummings, but my sister and I have always corresponded in lower case to each other. Ever since we were little. It's our thing and I wanted something small like that incorporated into the blog. I often wonder if it's annoying to readers though and have thought about changing to standard upper/lower case typing. What are your thoughts? Is it annoying?? :-)

Thank again for the question and comment - love it!

    2. Honestly, I thought maybe it was just easiest. It doesn't annoy me at all! I love it!

    3. thank you mommaG - sweet girl!

    4. ha, that's hilarious. i've never even noticed it before. i don't use traditional upper/lower case type either. on my blog or ever (well, i guess there are a few exceptions). it's easier and less formal. i love it.

    5. Hi Carrie,

Yes - I rarely use caps, much to my grandmothers annoyance. :-) I really enjoy typing this way - much more relaxed.

      Thanks for leaving a comment!
      Sam :-)

  3. Hi Samantha,

I just want you to know that I have been a fan of your blog almost since the beginning. It is definitely one of my daily reads. I totally understand the shy-not wanting to share too much about yourself. I'm totally the same way! I RARELY leave blog comments due to my shyness. Thanks for sharing your great ideas!!

    1. hi shelli!

thank you so much for sharing your comment with me. i appreciate it! it's so sweet to know you have been following from the beginning - bless you for sticking around. it took me a while to get my groove going...and my photos early on were not so hot. and they are still a work in progress! lol!

thank you so much for being here!!
      sam :-)

  5. Hi Samantha!

I just found your blog and have been glued to my computer the entire evening enjoying every minute! Organizing has always been a hobby for me and I wish when my kids were young I would have had all the great blogs like yours to inspire me!!! Never too late though to learn new things... I live in the SF Bay Area - just east of SF in the Livermore Valley area (originally from Michigan) and look forward to hearing about your new adventures this year and your move out here to California.

Thank you for your inspiring blog!

    1. Hi dee!!

Thank you so much for the sweet comment here on the blog! I love kind readers like you and am glad that you've been enjoying reading the blog :-). Thank you again!!!

Hummmm, Livermore valley? Sounds very familiar to me. :-). My sister lives in your neck of the woods and we may soon be heading your way. We explored the San Jose area but didn't find much to excite us. It's costly out there (I knew that) but didn't know how bad off some of the homes were. So sad! Anyway, appears we will be looking in the east bay on our next trip. Who knows, maybe we'll end up being neighbors :-)

      All the best to you,

  6. Welcome Home!!! I love your blog and live in San Mateo. I work in the City and I LOVE it!!! Look forward to more of you wonderful ideas :)

    1. Omg - you live in San Mateo??!! How funny! I attended college on the peninsula and loved most recently (before moving away) in foster city. Small world! :-) I'm looking forward to coming back but not excited about the hefty price tag of purchasing a home. We will see where we end up landing :-)

Thank you for reading along and I wish you all the best!!
      Sam :-)

  7. Hi, Found you at I Heart Organizing. I'm in the burbs of Los Angeles and absolutely love the Bay area. I have family up there and wish I could go more often. Good luck with your move this summer.

    1. Hi there!!

I'm so glad you found me on Jen's blog. :-) welcome!!!

We most recently moved from OC, which is know it much different than the LA burbs - but sounds like we weren't too far off. It's going to be an adjustment moving back to the Bay Area because I haven't lived there for 13 years - since finishing college, getting married and having kids. So different to go back with 3 children and a husband. Much different times for me. But fun!

Thanks again for reading along and I hope you will stick around! All the best to you!
      Sam :-)

  8. Stopping by after Wendy posted on IG. Looks like you are already getting some comment love from CA already. It is definitely different living here with kids. We are from SF and looked at living on the peninsula but that was a no go. East Bay is a good choice. :) Would love to connect...our MOPS group (in Castro Valley, totally legit...Wendy has spoken to our group before) is having a speaker come to talk about decluttering and I am planning on doing some kind of 'challenge' on my blog or FB.

  9. I really enjoy your blog! I've nominated you for the Awesome Blog Content Award. You can find out more details by following this link: http://thechangepotential.com/2013/12/18/abc-award/

  10. Wondering about the china cabinets in todays post ? In the dining room ? Are those built ins or purchased somewhere ? They are fabulous! Love all your posts, so inspiring!
