A Glimpse Into Our New Pantry + A Giveaway!

Jun 28

When I help families get unpacked in their new homes, the top requested space is the kitchen and pantry. So when we moved 2 weeks ago (seriously, has it already been 2 weeks?!) you can guess I was crying that same plea. With a sea of cardboard boxes surrounding us, I managed to get the kitchen unpacked as best I could with the help of a couple dear friends. Thank you, Kim and Lori!! But you’ll be surprised to know this = the pantry overwhelmed me. I couldn’t wrap my head around it and froze when walking in.

I know! Me! The organizer who sees pantries weekly. All shapes, sizes, contents, volume, etc.

Frozen.

Why? A couple reasons, I think.

1. As I suggest to families when they move into a new home – and especially a new kitchen – we need to live in the space for a while before getting into any type of nitty-gritty organizing. Items tend to fall into places naturally…and you begin falling into new habits in the space as well. So I took the pressure off and lived here for 2 weeks before digging into this space. The pantry is also large enough to house a lot of other kitchen / entertaining type items so my plan was to be thoughtful with the organization. Which brings me to point 2…

2. You know all too well my previous pantry was a modest bank of 5-6 cabinets. I was totally content with the minimalism of my galley kitchen and made it work for us. Therefore you can imagine going from that to a full-blown walk-in pantry can throw you completely. I am SO super excited to have this much space, don’t get me wrong…but on the other hand, it’s extreme for my personality type and style of grocery shopping / habits.

All that said, I am excited to share it with you AND a giveaway as a welcome to the new pantry!

You’ll recognize a lot of my old baskets and containers – I love how every organizer works perfectly in nearly every space of the house. Including the office and closets and bathrooms. It was seamless – I pulled bins out of boxes and set them directly onto shelves or in drawers. It’s been so so helpful! There’s definitely a post on the horizon about that!

And you may also recognize / spy the caddies. Remember these guys that we use to contain our labeling supplies for projects?

Turns out these work exceptionally well for containing items in a pantry! And in our new pantry I organized a variety of small baking supplies…

In love with this simple and easy solution! These caddies are roughly $18 too so they aren’t going to break the bank. They can be used in SO MANY ways – crafts, sewing, office supplies, school supplies, or a garage – those small tools and batteries?? Endless ideas…

Some of these baking items tend to get lost in a drawer or even a junk drawer. Instead, you can organize everything from frosting bags to candles to cupcake liners…each compartmentalized and a snap to find / grab…and most importantly – USE! If you can find it, you’re more likely to use it…

We have a lot of plans to bake in this new kitchen!

These caddies are made by Deflecto and can now be purchased at Target

The caddies each come with 3 containers – 1 large, medium and small. They are removable, have a snap-tight lid, hold up to 40 pounds and can be stacked together securely…

After sorting through the pantry boxes and finding these small baking supplies, I knew this would be the perfect storage option…

My categories for the compartments are cupcake liners, sprinkles, candles, cake toppers, frosting bags and decorating tips…

Doesn’t hurt they are pretty to look at too!…

Target and Deflecto are so kind and reached out to offer a giveaway for one lucky reader – I LOVE sharing great things with you guys! Thank you so much for your support throughout the move process. Your notes and messages and emails meant the world to us! Thank you!

One of you is going to win 2 stackable caddies AND a $50 Target gift card! As usual, giveaway entry is uncomplicated…just follow the directions in the gadget below. We’ll choose a winner early next week!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Good luck you guys! Back soon with more!

xx,

Sam
