Maximize Bathroom Space with Shower Shelf + A Giveaway!

May 12

In the average home, bathrooms are small spaces. When it comes to keeping a small bathroom organized, there are challenges to tackle…especially when you’re sharing that bathroom with someone or it’s a bathroom shared by children.

You’ve gotta get creative with storage and organization in a space like this!

In my own home, I have 2 tiny bathrooms downstairs. These are the original bathrooms from 1960, when the home was built. They are small and only have a few little upgrades / new paint, but the size and lack of hidden storage is a constant struggle because these bathrooms are used by 3 children and our guests. Of course, you guys know me – I take on small spaces with a smile. Nothing gets past this professional organizer. I think outside the box and make small spaces in this home work extra hard.

For starters, this bathroom is shared by my 8 and 5 year olds as well as guests that visit us…

Painting the bathroom a light color helps to make it appear larger. But I had to stand in the tub to get a few of these shots…

There isn’t hidden storage under the sink, so I’ve been creative. I added this shelf over the toilet to display extra toilet paper and q-tips…

I also added this ledge to serve as a spot for the kids to keep toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and a couple rinsing cups…

It’s been working ok, but truthfully the kids can’t reach the ledge very well. Particularly my 5 year old. Even when she stands on her stool, she needs help reaching…

This was an issue on my “to deal with” list, until my new friends at Shower Shelf reached out to me about their new product. The name says it all but wow…genius! Meet Shower Shelf…

Shower Shelf is a patented no-slip system designed to transform your towel bar into a shelf…while still being able to use your towel bar!

*smacks forehead* Why didn’t I think of this?!

Did I mention there are no tools required?

No suction cups, no drilling into tile, no clamps. Just slip the 3 pieces together and you’re in bathroom organization business. Amazing! The Shower Shelf is stain-resistant, slip-resistant, durable and easy to clean…

The beauty of the Shower Shelf is that it can be used in your shower, but also on a bar in the bathroom area itself. In my case, I don’t have a towel bar in the shower, but we definitely needed another shelf by the sink for the kids. I assembled the shelf in 10 seconds…

Then popped it into the towel bar…

Once in place, I added the kids dental products above it – done!…

It’s streamlined and safe – no sharp corners to worry about with the kids…

Everything is within reach…

If you have a towel bar in your shower, Shower Shelf has a few added features besides being an amazing extra shelf. There are 2 openings on the top ends for razors…

And the grooves in the bottom of the shelf can hold your loofahs on a string, as seen in this image…

So awesome!

With bathroom #1 taken care of, I easily tackled the other by using another smart product they call their Towel Bar Shelf. My 10 year old is lucky enough to have the old master bedroom with an attached bathroom. Lucky boy! But again, the bathroom is tiny and there is no hidden storage…

It’s so small I can’t take a good image of the space while standing inside the bathroom. You can see I added a ladder shelf for him but it was in an awkward spot in front of the window. I always wanted it to be flush against the wall where you see the towel bar. Speaking of, he really didn’t need this towel bar over here….

There are two towel hooks hidden away behind the bathroom door. Not sure about your kids, but mine are more apt to hang a wet towel on a hook than draping one over a towel bar. #lazy

The bar wasn’t being used and I wanted to move it closer to his sink, where it would be more useful to hold his hand towel…

You can see there is no hidden storage here under the sink and the electric toothbrush must be here because of that outlet. That’s the only outlet in the bathroom. With his lack of sink counter space, I had hoped to make some changes…

I moved the towel bar above his sink…

And added a Towel Bar Shelf

Look at this!…

Love! And I love that his toothbrush can still be plugged in, in this location, but it’s up off his sink surface…

The Towel Bar Shelf is intended for dry areas, making it the perfect answer to this bathroom issue…

Finally, for the happy ending, the ladder shelf can sit in the space I was planning for all along. Tucked into the corner and not blocking the window access…

This product is a bathroom space game changer! Every bathroom needs one…or two!

That's such a great idea! Do you know if it would work on a square-shaped bar as opposed to a round bar? My shower has the old-fashioned built-into-the-tile towel bar at the back.
