Martha Stewart Wall Manager Review + a Giveaway!

Mar 17

Spring is in the air, which means spring cleaning and spring organization is on our minds. It’s our chance at a fresh new start. During the spring, I love to re-visit systems that aren’t working in our house and find new ways to keep our family moving in the most efficient way possible.

Since we are living in a rental house, I’ve been struggling with how to keep us organized without my usual wall hanging organizers. We aren’t going to be here much longer so hanging a wall organizer and hammering nails into the wall isn’t appealing to me. But then, this….

A few weeks ago I received an e-mail from the sweetest gal, Jenny, over at the Martha Stewart.

Yes, I did sorta fah-reak out when I found the e-mail in my inbox. Anyone who loves organization loves them some Martha Stewart. The woman can do no wrong, does organization perfectly, and all of the organization bloggers I know have fallen hard for her awesome office supply line at staples. Not just us bloggers, our readers as well! so when Jenny asked if I would be interested in reviewing the new Martha Stewart wall manager system, i replied with an enthusiastic “YES!”.

Oh, and did I forget to mention Martha Stewart is offering the same wall manager I am sharing today to ONE LUCKY SIMPLY ORGANIZED BLOG READER?!

Oh yea! *happy dance*

Ok, settle down! I’m talking to myself actually. I have been too excited to share this wall manager and giveaway with you that I can barely sit in my chair right now. Be prepared, there are a lot of photos in this post, but it’s a must – trust me. Once you see the photos you will understand why I have fallen hard for this effective wall manager.

Here are the contents of my box…

I couldn’t wait to unpack the box to get a better look at the system. Not only is it ascetically clean and pretty to look at, but the assembly could not have been easier. Each wall manager board comes with hanging instructions attached…

The nails are attached…

And my favorite part – a built-in level…

All you need is a hammer in order to hang this wall system. Everything else is at the ready for you.
Cool!
Once I checked out the wall manager components, I found an empty wall in the house. Remember during my kitchen tour when I  mentioned we have 2 large empty walls? This wall manager was a perfect fit for one of those…

So, I grabbed everything I needed and got to work.

(Now, before I go on, you’ll notice the nails are still hanging in the bag. I used a few adhesive strips – about 4 large strips per wall manager square – to hang my wall manager. Since we are living in a rental and will be moving in 3 months, I didn’t want to add 8 holes to the wall. When we move to our new house this summer, this beauty is definitely going to be a permanent fixture – and I’ll even add on more components. so, in order to keep the nails from getting lost during our move this summer, I left the bag hanging on the square components.

However, for complete wall-hanging success, I suggest that you hang this wall manager using the included nails. Again, this is a temporary solution for me. I would feel awful if you hung your wall manager with adhesive strips with a long-term plan in mind and then it came off the wall from overloading it. So, I suggest using the nails.)

Hanging the wall manager is super easy. Just place on the wall, check the built-in level and hammer in your nails…

Once you have the backing hung and have checked that it’s level…

You simply click the front of the component onto the back using these great hooks…

You can see here how both hooks just easily snap together…

And that’s it! One…

Two….

Three…

Four…

When I say it took me less than 10 minutes, that is the truth.

Once the 4 wall manager pieces were hung, it was time to add the components…

Adding the components was very easy too. They just snap and lock right into place…

It’s amazing how much organization bang you get in a small system too…

Once the components were installed, I made the wall manager my own…

I love it soooo much. Personally, I love it in the kitchen. But this wall manager would be awesome in any area of your home – office, library, homeschool room, or a children’s bedroom.

Now that you’ve seen the fully assembled Martha Stewart wall manager, I’ll share the details of how I have our organized.
I knew I wanted this wall manager in the kitchen first and foremost because of our 2nd graders homework supplies. in our previous house, I had his spelling homework needs hanging on the side of our fridge in a Martha Stewart wall pocket…

In our rental house the side of the fridge can’t be seen or used for hanging anything. So, I had been keeping his homework supplies in one of the kitchen cabinets…

The wall pocket was still being used but was laying flat. It was annoying to me to dig through the stack of papers each night to find what we needed, but I figured I would deal with it until we moved. But now…Organized!…

The inbox component is a great spot to add manilla folders to keep everything organized. In this inbox I have files for lined paper, our weekly spelling list, kindergarten schedules & papers, 2nd grade schedules & papers, pre-school schedule & papers, and our church schedule & papers.

The next quadrant has a lot of good stuff going on…

The components in this section are a drawer set, shelf boxes, set of 2 clips, set of 2 hooks, and a tall caddy….

In the drawers i’m keeping things like our library cards. The paper hanging directly above this drawer is our most recent check-out list from the library with due dates listed…

I love the tall caddy…

Inside I have pencils for homework, highlighters, a dry erase marker for the calendar (seen below), a small notepad, and scissors. To keep the bottom of the caddy from getting scuffed up with pencils or pens, I added a trimmed down piece of cardstock…

The next section is a great corkboard…

It’s the perfect spot for hanging anything you want to see at a quick glance…Like our school’s hot lunch menu.

and finally, there is an awesome dry erase calendar…That is also magnetic!…

The wall manager has been hanging in our kitchen for a full week and we are totally in love with it! And I’m not just saying that. It’s the truth. I love how well this works in our kitchen and how much more organized we feel when it comes time to do homework or take phone message or check out the hot lunch menu in the morning while making lunches. It’s simple to install and will make your life more organized! What could be better?
