That would be the cleaning supply aisle at my local store – loads of great products like Clorox®, Tilex®, and Viva® paper towels. Not only are their prices incredible, you can also use manufacturer coupons! if your spring cleaning list is growing longer by the minute, at least you won’t have to pay a fortune for the required cleaning supplies or tools.
Since we soon have family coming to visit for our son’s first holy communion, my spring cleaning list seems to be slightly longer than usual. Then there are those typical day to day annoyances. For those of you who think an organization blogger’s house is always in perfect shape – wrong! We keep it real over here…3 small children, my husband working all over the place each week, and the household chores rest solely on me. I do my best to stay on top of the house, but there are definitely those days.
I have 2 pesky day to day annoyances – the fridge and the kid’s bathroom sinks. Namely, the boy’s sinks.

The boys are all over the fridge. As soon as they get home from school it’s a free for all. Like they haven’t eaten since I fed them breakfast in the morning. We keep lots of food options within reach – in the fridge and pantry. But after a few days into a typical week’s schedule, here’s what my fridge looks like…
Don’t look too closely or something may bite you.
The fridge not only needed to be purged and re-stocked, the shelves needed cleaning. Before heading to the market this morning, I emptied the fridge and wiped down the entire inside with Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes…

With the fridge clean now, I then headed up to the boy’s bathroom to check out their sinks. Guaranteed, no matter morning or night, I will find crusted toothpaste in the sink or on the counter. Anyone? So, no surprise this morning when I found this…
I keep a container of Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes under each sink. Then after everyone is tucked in or off to school, I can quickly clean up the mess. *ahem* that would include the toilet too.
Told you, keeping it real. But I won’t share those photos with you – don’t worry.
Oh, which reminds me. The other cleaning item that is a must-have in any boys bathroom? Cottonelle® flushable wipes…I grabbed 2 packages while I was at dollar general last week because I never want to be without a package on hand…

I didn't know Dollar General carried name brands like Clorox, etc. Good tip! I'm always needing more plastic bins for organizing things, so I should plan a trip there soon. My mom is always telling me about neat products she picks up there too. 🙂
I honestly had no idea either! They had pretty much every cleaning supply I purchase, with the exception of a few special cleaners I can only find at Home Depot. It was fun walking down each aisle. They have quite the variety of inventory – haha! But all great stuff and very reasonable.

When we moved into our new home, I compared Dollar General's prices with Wal-Mart. I was surprised to find that Wal-Mart was almost always cheaper. I think our local Wal-Mart keeps an eye on Dollar General's prices and lowers their prices by a few cents. Even the trash cans and organizing bins were a few cents or more cheaper at Wal-Mart. It pays to compare.

Wish we had Dollar General up here in Canada! All our dollar stores have strange dollar store only brands when it comes to cleaning supplies. Hope the First Communion goes well. Oh yes, that is strange. Not sure I would buy the dollar store brand cleaning supplies too – you can never be too certain when it comes to something important like cleaning supplies. Thank you for the kind words about the first holy communion weekend. It was wonderful!

All of the cleaners you has sent so far have been very nice, reliable and conscientious. Most have been extremely thorough and I always make a point of providing feedback about extra good work. Nice post but i was looking eaves through cleaning calgary for my residential place !
