Organized Christmas Gift Wrap Station – v. 2013

Dec 12

With the hectic holiday atmosphere, it’s nice to have a little spot in your home where you can retreat, listen to your favorite Christmas music, and wrap to your hearts content…in peace. Last year I created a simple gift wrap station in my home office….

It was my little space to escape to wrap gifts for family, wrap teacher gifts, or help Santa wrap up a few things. Having everything I needed in one dedicated space made me more efficient! Matter of fact, it worked so well that this year I created a gift wrap station in our spare room here at the new house…

Didn’t take much space either…just a small corner of the room!

The spare room is currently home to all of the wall hangings and free-standing picture frames – yes, the wall hangings that have yet to go up anywhere in this house. A-hem. It was also holding this old shelf that was used to hold art supplies in the kids art room and then games in the playroom. When I moved it out of the playroom last month, it went into the spare room to be re-purposed eventually. I have some ideas for the shelf, but in the meantime it’s making a great gift wrap organizer!

I set up my long folding table under the window…

And filled the shelf with a bunch of gift wrapping necessities – a variety of wrapping papers…

Gift boxes, gift bags and a bin of red fabric ribbons…

I used these Ikea drawer organizers to sort out other gift wrap items…

Items like tissue paper and gift tags…

Ribbon bundles…

Small gifts to add to the top of presents…

And in between the organizers I have a variety of bows that match some of the wrapping paper…

On the table itself…

I have a few of these adorable gift boxes found in the $1 section at Target – 2 boxes for just $3!…

And I have a basket with scissors, tape and pens…

I have those items in a basket so I can easily stow them away on the top shelf when I’m done wrapping each day. The last thing I need is my little people getting into tape, scissors and pens!

The table has plenty of open space to roll out that beautiful wrapping paper…

As you can see, I already have a few gifts waiting in the wings to get wrapped up all pretty!

Organizing a gift wrap station in your home doesn’t require having a lot of space. Just find a little corner or nook, get your supplies gathered together, and you’ll find your wrapping process to be efficient…dare I say, maybe even fun!

Happy gift wrapping!
